Manchester Fiction Prize 2011

October 15, 2011

The winner of The Manchester Fiction Prize 2011 was announced last night at their prize giving ceremony and Krishan Coupland got the crown with his terrifyingly good short story Days Necrotic.

All of the shortlisted entries had special qualities about them but Coupland’s story more than stood out amongst the rest. It is a beautifully haunting love story about a man who loses his partner in an accident but just can’t let go. Completely original and touching, but brilliantly scary and abject, Days Necrotic must be read.

He is the very deserving winner of the huge £10,000 prize.
